By purchasing or using a GapYearSIM eSIM plan, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Activation and Usage

• Commencement: Your service begins the moment your SIM or eSIM is activated.
• Personal Use Only: These lines are provided for your personal, fair, and reasonable use.
• Prohibited Commercial Use: You may not use the service for telemarketing, mass-messaging (spam), automated surveys, or any other commercial or political activity.
• Device Restrictions: SIM cards must be used in standard mobile phones only; usage in routers, modems, servers, or "dongles" is strictly prohibited.
• Illegal Content: You are prohibited from using the service to transmit threatening, libelous, or illegal material.

2. Fair Use — International Calls

Our plans include unlimited international calls to the United States, Canada, and 25 additional countries, subject to a fair use limit of 1,620 minutes per month combined across all included destinations. The vast majority of customers never come close to this limit. If you would like to extend your allowance, you can contact us at any time.

2a. Usage Charges Not Included in Your Plan

Your monthly price covers 400GB of data in Israel, calls and texts to Israeli mobile numbers, and the international calls described above. A small number of services are billed by our carrier per use and are not included. If you use them, we pass the carrier's charge on to you at cost, with nothing added.

• Texts (SMS) to non-Israeli numbers: ₪0.99 per message (including a foreign-network fee). This applies to regular texts sent to US, Canadian, or any other foreign number.
• Texts (SMS) to Israeli landline numbers: ₪0.39 per message.
• Picture / multimedia messages (MMS): ₪1.99 per message, from the first message. This includes photos, videos, and some group texts sent as regular (green bubble) messages.
• Calls and texts above the monthly fair-use allowance: The plan includes up to 4,000 minutes and 4,000 texts per month to regular Israeli destinations. Each additional minute or text is ₪0.49.
• Calls to destinations not on the list above, or international calls not dialed through the included 017 service: billed at the carrier's standard international rates.
• Premium and special numbers (for example 1-900 services), and roaming outside Israel (see section 3): billed at the carrier's rates.

How to avoid these charges: Messages sent over data, such as WhatsApp, iMessage (blue bubble), Telegram, and Instagram, are free and count toward your data, not your texts. Most customers never pay any extra charge.

How you are billed: Our carrier reports usage to us roughly 4 to 6 weeks after the end of each billing month. Any charges are converted from shekels (₪, including Israeli VAT) to US dollars at the exchange rate on the day we bill them, and added to your next monthly GapYearSIM invoice as a separate, labeled line item. Because of this delay, charges can appear on an invoice after you cancel or after your line ends, and you agree to pay them.

Rates are set by our carrier and may change; we will always bill what the carrier actually charged for your line.

3. International Roaming Warning

• Advised Usage: To avoid extreme costs, we strongly advise customers not to leave the country while their line is active.
• Deactivate Before Departure: You must deactivate your service before leaving the country.
• Roaming Charges: If you leave the country without deactivating, you will be liable for all international roaming charges, including data, incoming/outgoing calls, and SMS.
• Delayed Billing: Be aware that roaming charges from foreign networks may appear on your account up to 60 days after the usage occurred.

4. Billing and VAT

• VAT Policy: GapYearSIM covers all VAT costs for our customers; the price quoted for your plan is the total amount you will pay, apart from any per-use charges described in section 2a.
• Third-Party Charges: You remain responsible for any "Premium" content, apps, or services charged to your mobile line.

5. Cancellation and No-Refund Policy

• End-of-Month Termination: If you cancel your service, your line will remain active and functional until the final day of the current billing month.
• No Refunds: Once a month of service has been paid for, it is non-refundable.
• Third-Party Constraints: As we work with third-party providers, we cannot offer pro-rated or "relative portion" refunds for unused days within a billing cycle.

6. Security and Liability

• Loss or Theft: If your SIM or eSIM is lost or stolen, you must notify GapYearSIM immediately; you are liable for all usage charges until the moment you report the loss.
• Data Protection: We are not responsible for any contacts, photos, or data stored on your SIM or device; maintaining backups is your sole responsibility.
• Liability Cap: The total liability of GapYearSIM for any claim is limited to the amount paid for services in the six months prior to the event.

7. Eligibility

GapYearSIM plans are intended for individuals on gap year programs in Israel.

8. Data & Privacy

We collect only the information necessary to provide and support your service, including your name, email, device IMEI, and payment details. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. IMEI checks performed on our website are not stored.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
