Does my phone need to be unlocked? +
One thing worth checking: make sure your phone is unlocked. On iPhone, go to Settings → General → About → "Carrier Lock" — it should say "No SIM restrictions." If it doesn't, call your US carrier to unlock it before you fly. It's much easier to sort out from home than from Israel, and a locked phone blocks any SIM, including ours.
How do I call US numbers from Israel? +
Dial 017 before the number, like 017-1-212-555-0100. That routes it through your included international minutes properly. Save it in your contacts with 017 already in front so you don't have to remember it every time.
